[size=large]我們絕大部分人總要經歷生、老、病、死,求學就業,結婚生子等事,而這些事,也的確值得我們先揣摩看看。
看看周遭的老人,您願意做怎樣的老人呢?
巷口有幾個,幾乎天天打麻將消遣,卻也是公然聚賭。
公園有不少,有的下棋,有的高談闊論,一看就知道當年沒唸幾本書,卻上知天文,下知地理,對國家大事特別在行。有的獨自運動健身,有的正和人吵架。
如果身邊不容易親眼目睹好榜樣,那麼天涯海角,古今中外也行。總之,某些行徑的老人,自己未必快樂,卻能帶給家人莫大的痛苦,小弟常常提醒自己:將來老了,可千萬不要成為這樣的老人。
像B女士,就是小弟非常敬佩的老人之一。人的身體會老,但心可以不老,B女士是可以用來註解這話的典範之一。人說學到老,她是工作到死,百歲人瑞的工作熱情毫不輸年輕小伙子,業績甚至還贏過他們,而好多年前,她早已有錢到不必為錢工作。她在地下室創業,做生意的信念是:「只要你的價錢最低,顧客天涯海角都會找上門來。」

Rose Blumkin (born 1893, died 1998) was the owner of Nebraska Furniture Mart as well as a business partner of investor Warren Buffett. Born Rose Gorelick near Minsk, Russia, she moved to the US in 1917 and started up numerous business ventures with her husband, opening the Nebraska Furniture Mart in 1937.
Ms. Blumkin grew that business, eventually selling 90% to Buffett in 1983. She continued to be involved in day-to-day operations until shortly before her death at the age of 104. |
